Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: 15 March 2026
Short version: This site displays sponsored links to third-party services in relevant contexts (e.g. private GP services on practice pages). Where affiliate relationships are active, clicking a link and completing a qualifying action may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. This never influences the CQC rating data published on this site — all ratings are sourced directly from the CQC and presented as-is.
1. What Is an Affiliate Link?
An affiliate link is a specially tracked URL that identifies you as coming from this site to a third-party service. When you complete a qualifying action on that site (such as requesting a quote, purchasing a product or service, or making an enquiry), we may receive a commission payment from the third party.
These commissions help us cover the costs of running this site, including hosting, data licensing, and development.
2. What Types of Affiliate Links Appear on This Site?
This site hosts affiliate relationships in the following categories:
- Private GP services — Links to private GP providers and online GP consultation services. Relevant on all practice pages for visitors who want timely alternatives to NHS appointments.
- Private health insurance — Links to health insurance comparison services and direct insurers. These appear particularly on pages for practices rated Requires Improvement or Inadequate by the CQC.
- Medical negligence legal services — Links to solicitor referral services specialising in clinical negligence claims. These appear on pages for practices rated Inadequate by the CQC. These links do not imply that any specific practice has committed negligence.
3. How Affiliate Links Are Labelled
All affiliate links on this site are clearly identified. Every advertisement block carries a visible "Advertisement" or "Paid link" label so you can always distinguish commercial content from editorial content.
Affiliate links use the HTML attributes rel="sponsored noopener noreferrer"
and target="_blank" in accordance with ASA and Google guidelines.
4. Editorial Independence
Affiliate relationships do not influence the CQC rating data published on this site.
All ratings are sourced directly and unmodified from the Care Quality Commission's publicly available dataset. We do not have any commercial relationships with GP practices, and we do not accept payment to alter, improve, or suppress ratings. A practice rated Inadequate by the CQC will always appear as Inadequate on this site.
The placement and type of affiliate CTA shown on a page is determined solely by the CQC rating of the practice on that page (e.g. health insurance CTAs appear on Requires Improvement pages because visitors on those pages may be considering alternatives — not because of any commercial arrangement with the insurer).
5. Compliance with ASA / CAP Rules
This site complies with the ASA/CAP Code (UK Advertising Standards Authority / Committee of Advertising Practice). All paid-for content and affiliate links are clearly identified as advertisements in accordance with CAP rules on the identification of marketing communications.
6. Health Insurance — Regulatory Note
Health insurance is a regulated financial product in the UK. This site is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and does not provide financial advice. Affiliate health insurance links direct you to FCA-authorised firms who will handle any regulated activity.
Before purchasing health insurance, you should assess your own circumstances and consider seeking independent financial advice from an FCA-authorised adviser.
7. Medical Negligence — Regulatory Note
Links to medical negligence services connect you to Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA)-regulated law firms. The presence of these links on a practice page does not imply or assert that the practice has acted negligently in any way. These links are provided purely for informational access to legal services. If you believe you have been harmed by clinical negligence, you should seek qualified legal advice.
8. Display Advertising
This site may also display third-party display advertisements served via advertising networks (such as Ezoic). These ads are separate from our affiliate partnerships and are served based on contextual relevance and, where consent has been given, your browsing interests. You can manage your preferences via our cookie consent settings.
